Italy’s hidden threat in uniforms seems to have taken hold in everyday life, from the construction of the refugee center in Fier and Frashëri to 2011 as a cold order, where the Italian government line after line waits blindly, even though it is not given in goodwill in the context of the war. The Italian mission in Albania has followed this Kosovo incursion with concern, with the heads of the Albanian government having forced KFOR to turn a blind eye, despite the fact that circles within it claim the situation was extremely serious. Frightened by a kind of shift in the climate of conflicts, the White House has kept part of its deadly post and an envoy in the outskirts of Tirana.

Annan did not escape, but neither did the specific promises to our president. Tirana remains under scrutiny because of corruption, drug trafficking, illegal emigration, and insecurity, despite the country being the hub of the entire Balkans and having a central role in sheltering over 470,000 Kosovars. The country has fallen into a catastrophe of problems with refugees, Kosovo, regional insecurity and other issues, and these are now part of everyday life in Albania.
The verdict is harsh: “The Presidency of the European Council, the European Commission and the EU member states stressed the importance of a democratic, stabilized, secure and economically prosperous Albania in a stable region.”
This “word” is the purpose of the aid that will come to our country only after free and fair elections, the strengthening of the rule of law and the protection of borders from organized crime.
German Chancellor Schröder said the summit “cannot effectively address assistance for the reconstruction and stabilization of Southeastern Europe without responsible leadership in Tirana.”
He further stated that “the Albanian leadership must show the will to build the structures of law and guarantee public order and security.”
The responsibility of the current government to restore order has been repeatedly demanded by the European Union and the United States of America.
Addressing President Meidani, the US Secretary of State made it clear to Tirana that without a fight against corruption, banditry and trafficking, Albania will remain outside major aid schemes.
In the summit’s final declaration, our country is mentioned as a weak link in the region in terms of the rule of law and state administration.
High-ranking Western representatives praised Albania’s role in hosting refugees, but openly expressed concern about the internal political situation and crime.

The government protected the killers of Azem Hajdari
Today, 324 days since the killing of the Leader of December
For these days and up to today, under strong and continuous international pressure, the Tirana Prosecution managed to prepare an indictment against several participants in the execution of MP Azem Hajdari. The arrested group managed to adapt the charges already on 29 December 1998, rejecting as unfounded the opposition’s many objections about the distortion of the truth. However, today as well, 324 days after the killing of Azem Hajdari, public opinion has the right to ask:
- Who and how many are the killers of Azem Hajdari, often more than one, and where are they?
- Has the investigation ever uncovered the political figure responsible for the execution of the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Order and SHIK?
- Has the investigation ever accused the man who ordered the organization of the attack, the man who set the special forces police in motion and who forced the civil hospital ambulance, at gunpoint with Kalashnikovs, to move without any doctor on board toward the scene of the crime?
- Who ordered the director of Tirana ambulances, Dr. Havzi Xhafa, for the emergency vehicle to arrive late and go to the crime scene without a doctor?
- Who ordered the state police and the republican guard to remove the personnel from the place where Azem Hajdari was to pass a few minutes before the attack?
- Who disarmed the MP’s bodyguards and who left them without reinforcements at the critical moment?
- Why were the perpetrators not stopped in time and why was the evidence manipulated?
The government not only failed to uncover the truth, but according to the opposition protected the perpetrators and instigators of the most serious political crime of the post-pluralist period.
